The Art Advocates collected some pupil voice about our Curriculum Week, ‘Around the World’.
1) What has been your favourite part of Curriculum Week?
‘Doing a poster created by Gaudi.’6HN
‘I loved making pizza as we have been learning about Italy.’
‘Making sushi and being able to eat it.’
‘Learning about Romero Britto was really fun. I liked how bright his art was.’
‘Making Brazillian masks and painting them in the same style of Romero Britto. We also learnt about the Brazillian carnival.’
‘I liked learning about Esther Mahlangu in art.’
‘It was fun painting the Australian flag.’
2) What have you learnt this week?
‘We learnt how to sing in Spanish.’6HN

‘I learnt about an artist called Romero Britto who was from Brazil.’
‘We learnt about drawing patterns on the floor. I really liked it.’
‘I learnt that when it’s morning in the UK, it is night time in Australia.’
3) Which artist did you study and tell me one fact about them.
‘I looked at Gaudi and he died because he was hit by a tram.’6HN
‘We learnt about Gianni Versace and he is from Italy.’
‘In year 4 we learnt about Hokusai and no-one knows his exact birth date.’
‘I learnt about Romero Britto from Brazil and he was inspired by Picasso.’
‘We learnt about Esther Mahlangu and she painted an airplane.’
‘We looked at Jamini Roy and he painted two elephants together.’
4) Have you enjoyed the workshops and what did you learn?
‘I learnt a lot of facts about what people do in Spain.’6R
‘During our drumming workshop we learnt that in Brazil they listen to Samba music.’
‘I enjoyed the actions the teacher taught us.’
‘We learnt about Australia and my favourite Kookaburra.’
